SUKY HONG (she/her)

Doctor of Philosophy in Education in Curriculum and Pedagogy Candidate

Hello,

My name is Suky Hong (She/Her).

I am a first-year PhD student in Curriculum and Pedagogy, OISE, University of Toronto. I did my undergrad in the cognitive science of language at McMaster University and did my 1st Master’s in developmental disabilities and Child life at Nova Southeastern University. I completed my 2nd Master’s in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Toronto.

I am interested in children in hospitals, children with disabilities, chronic illness, curriculum design, creativity, emotional expression, and situationalities with a holistic approach. I have had the chance to learn in diverse backgrounds, which makes me think from various perspectives. As I am still learning, I would love to experience and dive into diverse perspectives! :)

ZIYI MU (she/her)

Master of Education in Curriculum and Pedagogy Candidate

My name is Ziyi Mu(she/her); this is my first year (second semester) in the M.Ed Curriculum and Pedagogy program. I just graduated from the University of Toronto, majoring in Economics and Mathematics. I plan to complete an emphasis on Digital Technologies and Education. I am now in Mississauga. I love education as my lifetime career. The primary reason is I would like to help those people, especially international students facing cultural differences, and also help newcomers in Canada learning English and finding their positions.

I've been an Economics tutor for four years. I decided to be an Economics tutor in my second year at U of T, and I just became a live tutor last year. Online teaching is not harder or easier than in-person instruction; it is just very different. With online training courses, my students and I benefit from a more casual, flexible approach. In addition, being unrestricted regarding location and times makes students more comfortable with the courses. With offline learning, it’s easier to ensure my students are paying attention to the class. Some students also find it easier to retain the knowledge and skills they’ve learned through offline classes than they do with online classes.

JUN WANG (he/him)

Master of Education in Curriculum and Pedagogy Candidate

My name is Jun Wang, and I am in the last year of my M.Ed. in Curriculum & Pedagogy with an emphasis in Digital Technologies and arts. I am also in the Knowledge Media Design collaborative specialization program. I completed my undergrad at University of Toronto Scarborough majoring in New Media and Economics. I am currently living in Downtown Toronto. I hope that my knowledge in multimedia can be combined with pedagogy to create a better educational platform that can help more students.

I'm a photographer, videographer, and game lover. My research is broadly concerned with social media in higher education futures, social media marketing and virtual learning. As the mainstream way of communication and sharing of life, digital media affects people subtly. The use of digital media in teaching has only been implemented in recent years. Since I have a background in media, I am interested in the impact of digital media on teaching and learning.
